The war is costing America ten million dollars per hour.
The average CEO in America has earned in their first three hours on the job what a minimum wage worker earns per year.
This is obscene, if there is anyone that can provide some insight to the average person on what they can do to fight this, please help educate me and others.
I personally try to live as simply and peacefully as possible, I try to buck corporation and be self-sufficient and kind to our mother earth.
I'm assuming we all know that this is ideal but is there something else i can do? I'm pissed.

Re: POVERTY SUCKS
Mon, January 8, 2007 - 8:38 AMI hadn't heard that comparison about the CEO v. the minimum wage worker before.
In my perhaps naive way, I believe in speaking your truth. "This is how poverty affects/affected me" (if you've been through it. Or even "This is how the poverty of others effects me and how I understand it effects them and the rest of us.") Is writing letters to the editor hopeless these days? Blog or podcast? Certainly, friends, family co-workers. Try to speak not just to the converted, but if you're a big blowhard like me, be careful what battles you pick.
This is a good time to talk about the cost of the war and the poverty as both are coming up in the new congress.

Tue, January 9, 2007 - 6:06 PMThanks for the response Crypto, you rock. All of your suggestions are straightforward and rational. Thank you because i was in such a mood that if a bomb recipe along with addresses had reached me first, i don't know how things would have gone! I will continue to write my editor, congressman and rant and rave to all of my friends and family. And you are right on with " pick your battles", my mama always told me so. Where did you grow up? thanx love Sheila -
